About

Sarrasin is a 100% gluten-free and organic artisanal microbakery located in Mile End in Montreal. Our mission is to offer quality bread that rivals gluten breads, for an uncompromising experience.

A family project

This project is run by two sisters. Isobel, the baker, was diagnosed with celiac disease 10 years ago, as were several members of her family. This bakery is driven by a personal mission and does not seek to follow health or dietary trends. The goal is simply to offer people with dietary restrictions the joy of eating.

A community


We operate out of the kitchen of pâtisserie Lu & I, a pastry shop that is entirely vegan and gluten-free. The two founding owners, who are best friends, immediately made us feel at home and allowed us to gradually develop this project in our own image. We want to create a place of community and sharing. That's why we love organizing events centered around good gluten-free food.

Our bread is available frozen at Lu & I every day, and fresh bread is sold there every Friday.
